Vision
  • That by 2010 and beyond, people with mental health and AOD issues in Wanganui and district will have ready access to peer support, education, advocacy and training from their peers to enable them to live independently in a healthy community.
  • That people who have experienced mental illness, addictions and the recovery process will be trained in the necessary skills to form a significant part of the paid peer workforce supporting the recovery and maintenance of wellbeing of their peers.
  • That youth who experience mental health and addictions issues will have access to relevant information about their rights, treatment, recovery education/activities options and peer support that will foster full recovery.
  • That adults who experience mental health and addictions issues will have access to relevant information on their rights, recovery education/activities and peer support that will foster full recovery.
  • That older people who experience mental health issues will have access to relevant information about their rights, recovery education/activities and peer support that will enable full quality life.
  • That those experiencing from AOD issues (including the methadone program) will have access to relevant information about their rights, treatment options and peer support to help them to live well in the community.
 

Next Meetings

Next Support Group Meetings are Monday 9 -30 am at Room 111, 53A Ridgway St, and 7pm, Thursday at  57 Ridgway St, Wanganui.
